Co-writers Mark Pudliener and Wesley Smith meld musical numbers and plot development together, as well as bringing dads and students onto stage in this effort to invigorate the Fathers Follies of 2005.
When a series of teachers and substitute teachers become ill, mysterious character Zilly Zonka arrives to help with this "adult-supervision" crisis. Teaching the kids that they should live for today and not worry about tomorrow, the kids embrace this mantra and flunk the school's big test. Realizing they failed the school and themselves, the kids travel to the end of the world to join the oompa loompas but acheive enlightment along the way. A fun video clip of the "rapid return" to the real world is the climax of this fun and festive undertaking.
