Moving the Follies into the electronic era, video segments were added as pre-show entertainment and incorporated into the story line.
A cast of eighteen actors is listed in the program, along with twelve dancers and thirteen singers. The orchestra credits eleven musicians. By this time, there is an official Fathers’ Follies website.
A student at VW, Squarebob, is given the answers in advance to the school's BIG TEST. Not knowing whether to look at the answers or not, Squarebob and his friend Plastic travel to seek council from the all knowing and powerful Mr. D. Advised to destroy the answers (a clever scene involved the live characters talking to the all knowing and powerful Mr. D on video screen), our heros travel to throw the answers into the fire of Mount Doom, and encounter a cast of characters all the way. Acheiving their goals of not looking at the answers and destroying them, VW once again acheives an outstanding academic performance, and those naughty students who looked didn't. The advanced answers were of course wrong.
There are twenty-five pages of ads and donations.
"Square Bob Spongepants" was a popular children’s TV show and motion picture of the year. The musical numbers range from a ballet through songs from the Beach Boys, "Willie Wonka", current pop numbers, the Can-Can, and "Hail Verdugo Woodlands".
