The script is premised on the classic TV comedy I Love Lucy, using the show’s characters: The "Micardo" and the "Gertz". The show revolves around "Lucy" and "Ethel" attempting to kiss a rock’n’roll idol named "Swellvis Pressler" by disguising themselves as male members of the Dads’ Club. Interesting idea: men dressed as women, disguising themselves as men. This would call for a high level of expertise in costume and make-up, not to mention acting skills, a la "Victor/Victoria".
Other characters are a reporter, an Ed Sullivan type, Swelvis’ manager, Swelvis assistant, a couple of security men, a some teen-age fans, two PTA ladies, two VW teachers including Mike Lichtman as himself, a plethora of City Council members, and a doo-wop back-up quartet. Principal Janice Hanada played herself.
