By Jill Benone:
This was based on the 1960 script, with some rewrites. Rankenfross is still selling hot air balloon rides to Principal Fiske, who is played by John Hedlund, and the kids still manage to sneak aboard.
The singing quartet opening the show with "Show Business” was identified by name, and there is a scene titled "Los Bandidos de Selvas De Verdugo”. A bull fight scene was an addition, complete with Ferdinand the Bull.
Nelson Shrinkafeller was assisted by his father John Shrinkafeller, and the gag regarding shrinking Rankenfrosss was retained. The angel was still living on Cloud Nine and still giving directions. The balloon touched down in a street with a snake charmer, a harem, and the Old West saloon. A "Dutch Boy” was added to the cast list, as well as "The Understudy”, played by Don Fiske—there is no note as to why Fiske did not play himself.
Dancers and Singers were identified by name. The program listed a College Stage Crew as well as a Dads’ Stage Crew.
