The Seventh Year: April 30 and May 1, 1954

Program and Poster Art: Al Taliaferro

By Jill Benone:
This show, a series of skits, was presented with an overture, two acts, and an intermission. From the program, we gather that the skits in the first act, listed as “Forest Lawn”, were related to the circus act skits of the second act, identified as “Under the Big Top.” The circus theme is depicted in the program/poster art. The singers and dancers are listed by name the first time they perform and as Singing Chorus and Dancing Chorus thereafter. One solo is credited to professional singer Don Kerrebrock.

One of the skits in Act 1 is titled "Navel Maneuver". If it is the one I remember, cartoon faces are drawn on men’s bellies with hilarious results. I would love to know what exactly the skit titled "Asp in the Grasp" was about.

There are one hundred ten names – "and others" – listed on the back cover as "Those Responsible".

Reported by Mrs. Lottie Hubbard, Historian:
An array of talent . . . from Hollywood to the London Palladium joined forces to give one of the most successful performances in a history of successful performances. Many thanks to our fine fathers who direct and participate in his outstanding event each year.
