There were dance numbers, singers, and several comedy sketches. Al Taliaferro offered an artists’ demonstration of Donald Duck, with Clarence Nash providing the voice heard in all the cartoons, a ballet number was titled "The Dance of the Cooked Goose", and the Grand Finale was "A Pretty Girl is Like a Melody". There is a wonderful memo (unsigned), delineating the captains’ names, the order in which the acts were performed, and a timetable for Rehearsal Week at the college, along with a Lights/Curtain Cue Sheet. Skit Captains were responsible for the direction and set for each act: “each skit and individual act is expected to develop its own costumes. Please have this done before the dress rehearsal”. There was a contact name and phone number for any special music or off-stage sound effects, and a deadline for the first (and, I imagine, subsequent) reports of ticket sales. Monday night, March 27, 1950, at 7:30pm was the first time the entire show was put together. Full Dress Rehearsal was Thursday night. Full cast and crew were “urged” to report not later than 7pm for the Friday night show, when “all make-up will be performed by professional make-up men”. The show was sold out, with standing room only, and the enthusiasm was contagious. Verdugo Woodlands PTA realized it had a most unusual and successful fund-raiser, soon to be envied – although not totally understood -- by many other schools. The Glendale News-Press, January 18, 1951 announced Fathers’ Follies of 1951 would play for two nights.
