The longest running annual school fundraiser in the United States. Every year, a new original musical comedy by the father's of Verdugo Woodlands Elementary School. About Father's Follies... First and foremost, it's for the kids. Second, it's about community. With work, school, household chores, out-of-town business trips, baseball games, music lessons, doctors appointments, and all the rest, it's difficult for the parents of VW to get to know one another. The Father's Follies provides a great vehicle for doing just that - even if it is just for a few months or so each year. The camaraderie of producing the nation's longest running fundraiser --The "Father's Follies"-- outlasts the 6th grade graduation ceremony and bonds families together in the community for years and even across generations.  It's also about fundraising. Like every other PTA, ours needs money to operate, and Father's Follies has raised funds towards VW PTA's operating expenses for over 58 years.Most of all it's about celebrating fatherhood. As adults we seem to spend every waking hour acting like the grown ups we're supposed to be. Every once in a while it fun to strip off the veneer and let our kids see what's underneath - big people who still remember what it's like to be a little person. How can you help? The Dads Club and the Father's Follies are inextricably linked. A building located adjacent to the school, it serves as a meeting and gathering place for countless community activities and school events. In fact, Verdugo Woodlands would be much less of a community for our children without the Dads Club.
